February 17-18th

Little Grebe still on Loch and wintering Whimbrel still present. Mistle Thrush notable and two Short-eared Owls present.

January 3rd-11th

Passerine numbers on the isle were very low, especially considering the frozen conditions on the mainland, not that the isle was any warmer.

Notable sightings:

Slavonian Grebe– 1 off Pilgrims, the 11th record and first since 2017.

Little Grebe– 1 on loch for seventh winter

Whimbrel-1 for sixth consecutive winter

Barn Owl– 1 deceased

Max counts- Wigeon 6, Woodcock 2, Buzzard 1, Short-eared Owl 3, Little Auk 24, Grey Heron 2, Sparrowhawk 2, Kestrel 1, Carrion Crow 10, Wren 6, Blackbird 4, Song Thrush 1, Fieldfare 1, Redwing 2, Robin 4, Dunnock 1.
